Match Date: 03 Jul 2019

Start Time: 10:30 AM LOCAL (03:00 PM IST)

Venue: Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street

Series: ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

What a difference a Jason Roy makes. Jonny Bairstow, who finally played like we all know he can, allowed Ben Stokes to play with a lot more freedom, too. And it was arguably with that knock from Stokes, at a much better strike rate than Bairstow's, that the game was won.

New Zealand will be so thankful for getting all those early wins on the board. Kiwis went quietly about their business of beating the weaker sides, also benefiting from no games being rained off against them. And then picked up a valuable point when their game against India was indeed called off, due to bad weather.
